ACADEMIC LIAISING

In 2018, HR Talent Acquisition Team also established university liaisons for future
talent mapping by asking PTCL employees, who are alumni of top universities in
Pakistan, to see university events as an opportunity to attract young talent at both
the undergraduate and the graduate levels. Over the span of two months, the HR
Team from the Headquarters, along with the concerned HRBPs, held 7 career fairs
in different parts of Islamabad and Lahore. Hence, university liaising proved to be
advantageous for PTCL as it did not only promise a strong talent bank, but also
guaranteed visibility, particularly amongst the youth.

           GLOBAL EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
           SURVEY

Team HR Organisational Development (HR OD) collaborated with
Etisalat and one of the world’s top-notch consultants Willis Towers
Watson (WTW), to conduct the Global Employee Engagement
Survey. The aim was to learn about the various factors that
influence an employee’s satisfaction and performance at work.
Around 100 employees were appointed as ‘Engagement
Champions’, by virtue of which, they pledged to work on ‘areas
of improvement’ highlighted by the survey results. Team HR
OD also conducted focus group sessions in different regions
to create awareness amongst employees regarding the survey
results, its interpretation, as well as facilitated them to identify
areas of improvement so that adequate action plans could be
developed as the way forward. Resultantly, 90 extensive action
plans were received from all across PTCL.

ORACLE GLOBAL HUMAN RESOURCES CLOUD ENGAGEMENT

HR OD Team also acquired the most advanced, cost-cutting cloud optimiser that can effectively handle sophisticated human capital data. It enables
employees to work from anywhere, using virtually any device, through an intuitive and engaging user interface, thereby, replacing Success Factor.
Interestingly, it also offers the most advanced built-in analytic functions that leverage powerful operations (talent management and succession), as
well as other functionalities. Social tools embedded in it support collaboration across the workplace and also aid in sourcing top talent more easily
through social channels, like LinkedIn. Traditionally, Success Factor merely gave a rear view of business intelligence; however, this new talent suite
has helped PTCL by providing predictive insights such as identifying top talent flight risk.
