Systems Certifications

PTCL is committed to business excellence and continuous improvement. Hence, in line with Etisalat Group’s objectives, Governance and
Quality Assurance Team provided core support in standardisation of processes, effective implementation of controls and compliance
assurance at functional levels. The team also established rigorous quality and information security programmes by acquiring the following
international certifications for PTCL:

International Standard Certification of Quality Management System

ISO 9001:2015
PTCL has achieved this world-renowned international certification through effective implementation of quality
systems in 21 key business units, nationwide. Domains such as Quality Assurance, Network Operations
Centres (NOC), IT/IS, Procurement, Training & Development, Business Operations, Smart Shops, and
Contact Centres were included. After a successful audit of 21 business units, recommendation for the
certification was awarded by United Registrar of System (URS) United Kingdom (a leading international
certification body). The prime focus and key benefits of programme include operational excellence,
regulatory conformance, increase in customer satisfaction levels, churn management, and strong
local/global credibility of PTCL.

International Standard Certification of Information Security
PCI DSS: Data Security Standard for PTCL Cloud Services

PTCL attained the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) certification v3.2 for its-
Infrastructure-As-A-Service (IaaS) offering - PTCL Smart Cloud. PCI DSS certification is a landmark
achievement for PTCL Smart Cloud services, which assures maximum security compliance as per
international standards.
Pakistan's First SDN-enabled cloud infrastructure is the country's most secure cloud platform. PTCL's laaS
Cloud Services run on two locally hosted Tier-3 certified data centres that pride themselves for provisioning
of optimal security. Since the launch of Smart Cloud in June 2016, PTCL has built a satisfied clientele in a
short span of time with the help of custom-built solutions that include Virtual Data Centres, Virtual Private
Servers (VPS), and Business Continuity as a service. Hence, PTCL Smart Cloud is helping organisations in
revolutionising their business practices and helping them realise their growth potential.

ISO 27001 & ISO 27017
PTCL has also become the region’s first operator to achieve two ISO certifications (ISO/IEC 27001:2013
and ISO/IEC 27017:2015) for its cloud services ‘Infrastructure-as-a-Service’ (IaaS) offering. PTCL’s cloud
offering allows its customers to utilise the amount of computing resources as per their requirements on an
OPEX model without having to invest in hardware themselves. Addressing the specific needs of cloud
security, ISO/IEC 27017 builds upon ISO/IEC 27001 and thus provides additional controls and
implementation guidance on architecture, technology and processes to ensure information is well
protected in the cloud.
