Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has restored the communication services in earthquake hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

An earthquake with epicenter in Hindu Kush struck major parts of Pakistan and also affected technical infrastructure and communication links. PTCL responded proactively to this national calamity and its dedicated teams on ground through their round the clock efforts and hard work, restored most of the communication services in Shangla, Upper Dir and adjacent affected areas. Also, medical units were mobilized to facilitate the affectees by setting up free medical camps.

PTCL announces Q3 2015 financial results

Islamabad, October 22, 2015: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the largest Information Communication Technology (ICT) services provider in Pakistan, has declared financial results for the first nine months of FY 2015.

PTCL announced revenues of Rs. 58.1 billion for the period ended September 30, 2015 while gross and net profit of the Company stood at Rs. 17.8 billion and Rs. 7.9 billion respectively. 

PTCL group earned revenues of Rs. 90.1 billion, while gross and net profit of the group stood at Rs. 24.4 billion and Rs. 2.8 billion respectively.

PTCL cash flows remained stable owing to the strong market position backed by the Company’s innovative services and focus on high speed broadband portfolio as well as effective cost optimization measures in place.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) recently organized a humor-packed literary session themed ‘Sham -e- Maza’h’ for its employees and their families.

Renowned comic poet Professor Anwar Masood presided over the hilarious session, which included prominent comic poet Salman Gilani; Abdul Hakeem Nasif, Zahid Fakhri, Dr. Fakhar Abbas, Dr. Tahir Shaheer, Sarfraz Shahid, Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed, Dr. Saeed Iqbal Saadi, Idrees Qureshi, Dr. Badar Munir, Ali Zulfi, Jawad Hassan Jawad, Muhammad Arif, Saleem Akhtar and Shahbaz Chohan who brought bouts of laughter to the jam-packed hall.

The humorous poems ‘Banyan’, ‘Vela Baba’, ‘Kaddi Te Paiky Ja Ni Begum’ were the most appreciated items of the session given a standing ovation by the energetic crowd. Mr. Ali Yasir a young talented poet anchored the session and also kept the humorous tempo of the proceedings alive with his witty replies and rejoinders to the speakers and writers on the stage.

Besides, a highly significant segment of this unique session was a short journey down the memory lane in the form of selected readings on social and political satire.

PTCL employees participate in Team Etisalat’s Diabetes ride across Europe

Islamabad: Two cyclists from Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) have participated in the GSMA mHealth Grand Tour across three European countries as part of Etisalat’s team. The tour - which started from Brussels and ended at Geneva - was aimed at raising awareness and research into diabetes using state-of-the-art technologies. PTCL was represented by Usman Ali Akbar and Nasir Abdullah at the tour.

Members of Team Etisalat were selected from volunteers to participate in the event from across its international footprint. The team comprises of 11 Etisalat employees from 8 different nationalities, as well as a long-standing Etisalat customer, Nichola McDonald.

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) senior management visited the NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), Islamabad to appreciate the achievements of three brilliant students of the university, who presented their research paper at MIT USA - one of the most prestigious universities of the world.  

Three students of NUST, Abdullah Ahmed, Muhammad Jazib Khan and Muhammad Asawal have developed a device for cricketers to regularly gauge their body movements and angles while bowling. The creative device will provide an accurate, easy and affordable solution to the cricketers to monitor and rectify their bowling actions.  The research was sponsored by PTCL.

CTO Zong visits PTCL Network Operations Center

Islamabad: A four member delegation from Zong, led by the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Miao Qiao and senior technical experts visited the state-of-the-art Network operations control center of PTCL in Islamabad.

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is carrying-out relief efforts in the areas hit by recent torrential rains and severe floods by providing medical assistance to the affected people.

The recent floods have affected various regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces. To help the people in the flood hit areas, PTCL in collaboration with local authorities and Pakistan Army has mobilized its resources by setting up medical camps comprising of PTCL doctors and medical staff equipped with necessary medicines and ambulances.

Imran Janjua, General Manager Corporate Communications PTCL, while briefing the media said, “The Company’s medical care teams are currently providing medical relief services in affected areas of Chitral, Peshawar, Jhelum, Larkana and Sukkur. Medical camps have also been established in various remote areas including the remote Reshun village in Chitral, where initial relief services could not reach as the connecting bridge was washed away by flood waves.”

PTCL restores communication services in Chitral


Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has restored the communication services in flood hit Chitral area. Despite heavy rains and challenging weather conditions, PTCL special teams have worked diligently during Eid holidays to connect the affected areas, restoring landline, broadband and wireless internet services.

Imran Janjua, General Manager, Public Outreach and Corporate Communications, PTCL while briefing the media said, “More than 50% of our exchanges and technical infrastructure in Chitral has been damaged in recent rains and floods. With the hard work of teams on ground, round the clock, most of our services have been restored. Few affected customers will be restored in the next 2 to 3 days. Despite electricity outrages, PTCL is running the services sites with backup power and transporting fuel on mules and horses.”

Muhammad Nasrullah, Chief Business Operations Officer PTCL, while appreciating the quick restoration undertaken by PTCL teams in Chitral said, “Helping out the people in the affected areas while connecting them to the rest of the country remains our top most priority. PTCL declares 10% interim cash dividend on sound performance in Q2FY2015

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the largest Information Communications Technology (ICT) services provider in Pakistan, has declared sound financial results for the first six months of FY 2015.

PTCL announced revenues of Rs. 39.4 billion for the period ended June 30, 2015 while gross and net profit of the Company stood at Rs. 12.9 billion and Rs. 6.1 billion respectively. 

Based on the sound performance, the Board of Directors has declared 10% interim cash dividend.

PTCL group earned revenues of Rs. 61.0 billion, while gross and net profit of the group stood at Rs. 17.4 billion and Rs. 3.2 billion respectively.

PTCL cash flows remained stable owing to the strong market position backed by the Company’s innovative services and focus on high speed broadband portfolio.
