Islamabad – August 28, 2025: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, has announced financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2025 (HY), at a Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad. PTCL Group recorded 16% revenue growth, maintaining its position as Pakistan’s premier integrated telecom services provider.
Financial Highlights
- Group revenue increased by 16% on YoY basis, driven by strong growth in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise, and carrier wholesale services.
- PTCL revenue grew by 12% YoY, led by 62% growth in Flash Fiber and 15% growth in Business Solutions compared to the same period last year.
- Carrier and Wholesale business maintained its momentum with 18% growth. The international segment also recorded a YoY revenue increase of 10%.
- PTCL’s operating profit reached Rs. 7.9 billion, up 38% over HY 2024 and posted a net loss of Rs. 3.3 billion primarily due to one-off adjustment of additional pension liability as ordered by the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Islamabad, September 02, 2025: In a major step towards addressing Pakistan’s water scarcity, PTCL Group and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) have signed an agreement to expand their award-winning water project to phase two, which is set to benefit around 200,000 people across Southern Punjab and Thar.
Last year, the PTCL Group installed water pumps in Thar in collaboration with the Shifa Foundation, transforming the daily lives of around 15,000 people. Ba-Ikhtiar is a women empowerment initiative launched by PTCL Group in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). It aims to equip small-scale female entrepreneurs with essential digital tools and skills to grow their enterprises. Participants receive smartphones with pre-loaded SIM cards from PTCL Group. They also receive hands-on training in digital skills, including using UPaisa mobile wallets and managing seller accounts on the e-commerce platform Daraz. The 15-day workshop enhances their artisan skills and imparts digital marketing techniques to help them expand their market to the global online space.

- PTCL Group’s revenue has increased by 15.3% YoY to Rs 160.6 billion, mainly driven by strong performance in the consumer segment led by fixed broadband, mobile data, and wholesale & Business Solutions.

PTCL continued its strong performance throughout 2024. PTCL achieved revenue of Rs 79.5 billion during the first nine months of 2024, which is 11.1% higher than same period of last year, mainly driven by growth in fixed line, wholesale & business solutions segments. The company has posted an operating profit of Rs 8.2 billion during the first nine months of 2024, which is 27.6% higher as compared to the same period of 2023. Karachi – September 26, 2024: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) led consortium came together to formalize and celebrate the historic financing deal for PTCL’s acquisition (subject to regulatory approvals) of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers (Private) Limited at a special event in Karachi.
PTCL signed a share purchase agreement with Telenor (ASA) in December 2023 for the acquisition of 100% shares in Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers (Pvt.) Ltd at the acquisition price of PKR 108 billion (on debt free cash free basis). PTCL approached IFC for financing of the project, which was subsequently approved in April 2024, and endorsed by the IFC Board of Directors. The IFC-led consortium includes the Silk Road Fund (SRF), a Chinese state-owned medium-to-long-term investment fund, and British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor.

Islamabad – June 28, 2024: Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has signed formal loan agreements with an International Finance Corporation (IFC)-led consortium to secure up to $400 million in financing for the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers (Pvt.) Limited. This is a significant milestone in the acquisition process following the IFC Board of Directors’ approval of the financing deal in April 2024.
PTCL entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) last December with Telenor B.V. to acquire 100% of the shares of Telenor Pakistan at a price of PKR 108 billion on a cash-free, debt-free basis.
The IFC-led consortium, which includes the Silk Road Fund (SRF) and British International Investment plc (BII), has now formally agreed upon a $400 million facility with a seven-year tenor. The facility will be repaid in quarterly installments and includes a one-year capital grace period. The financing of this project is in line with the IFC-led consortium’s commitment to enhancing digital connectivity and narrowing the digital infrastructure gap in Pakistan.
Commenting on the development, President and Group CEO, PTCL & Ufone 4G, Hatem Bamatraf said, “We are thrilled to witness the materialization of this financing deal, which brings us closer to concluding this transformative milestone in Pakistan’s telecom sector. In Q1 2024, PTCL Group upheld its momentum and strengthened its position as a major telecom service provider in Pakistan. Revenue growth was largely due to strong performance in the consumer segment, boosted by significant growth in Fixed Broadband, Mobile Data and Business Solutions.
PTCL Group Highlights
- PTCL Group’s revenue has increased by 14% YoY to Rs 49 billion, mainly driven by strong performance in the consumer segment led by fixed broadband, mobile data, and wholesale & Business Solutions. The Group has posted a net loss of Rs 4.8 billion which is 16% lower YOY.
- PTCL continued its growth by posting 13% YoY revenue growth in Q1, 2024.
- PTML’s (Ufone) revenue grew by 27% compared to Q1, 2023.
PTCL Highlights
- PTCL continued its strong performance throughout Q1, 2024. PTCL achieved revenue of Rs 26 billion for this quarter, which is 13% higher than last year, mainly driven by growth in fixed line and business solutions segments.
- Flash Fiber, PTCL’s premium Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) service, continues to show tremendous growth with the highest Net adds share within the FTTH market (since Dec’23) and now stands as the leading FTTH service provider in Pakistan. - PTCL Group’s revenue has increased by 25.8% YoY to Rs 190.6 billion, mainly driven by strong performance in the consumer segment led by fixed broadband, mobile data, and wholesale & business solutions, along with microfinance services.
- The Group’s profitability was, among other factors, particularly affected by significant Rupee devaluation and high interest rates during the year. The Group has posted a net loss of Rs 14.1 billion.
