Islamabad, April 20, 2016: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, (PTCL) organized a free Medical Camp at Rawat Village near Murree. As part of the Company’s ongoing community outreach program, the camp is providing expert consultations and medicines to rural communities in hard to reach areas.
Since 16th of April, hundreds of patients suffering from different ailments have been examined at the medical camp by male and female medical experts led by Dr Erum Rubab, Senior Medical Officer PTCL.
The general trend of ailments that were observed includes scabies, conjunctivitis, gastrointestinal and cardiac diseases.
Free medicines were also provided to a large number of patients who were unable to procure expensive medicines from the market for themselves. People of the area expressed their sincere gratitude towards PTCL for its valuable efforts of reaching out to rural communities, and setting up a much needed medical camp in their area.

Islamabad, April 15, 2016: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has signed a fiber leasing agreement with Telenor Pakistan.
Telenor will benefit from this agreement in terms of upgrading its cellular backhaul to cater for exponential data growth in the aftermath of 3G/4G regime in the country. This agreement also serves as a major milestone towards achieving PTCL’s overall vision of becoming ‘The Carrier of Carriers’ by leveraging its strengths in infrastructure and services domain.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Daniel Ritz, President and CEO PTCL said, "This agreement is indicative of how PTCL's vast network serves as the primary framework for Pakistan's communications infrastructure, connecting millions of consumers across the country. Islamabad, April 14, 2016: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced today its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 in its Board of Directors meeting held at Islamabad.
PTCL Group earned Rs. 29.3 billion revenue during the quarter whereas PTCL’s revenues were Rs. 18.0 billion. Data revenues increased compared to the same period last year. The Company’s profitability remained stable despite competition. Net profit of the Company stood at Rs. 3.1 billion which was 27% higher compared to Rs. 2.5 billion of same period last year. Likewise, PTCL Group’s profitability also increased significantly.

Islamabad, March 04, 2016: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with ZTE Corporation for setting up a Joint Innovation Center (JIC) on Big Video in Pakistan. The JIC is a key initiative of PTCL and ZTE for Smart TV development, empowering PTCL to provide high quality video services to customers on TV and mobile devices.
The Joint Innovation Center, first of its kind in big video services in Pakistan, will allow both PTCL and ZTE to share resources, exchange knowledge and tap into the potential of the latest available technologies. Now PTCL will be able to further enhance its Smart TV offering, bring in more value and provide new, value-added services to customers.
The MOU was signed by Adnan Shahid, Chief Commercial Officer PTCL and Frank Fang, Vice President Multimedia Product & Services ZTE.

Before being named as President & CEO of the PTCL Group, Dr. Daniel Ritz was working with Etisalat Group as Chief Strategy Officer to lead and direct the Group’s Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisition and Strategic Project Management functions since 2012. He also serves as Board Member of a number of Etisalat’s international subsidiaries.
Aged 50, Dr. Daniel Ritz holds a Ph.D (magna cum laude) from the Hochschule St. Gallen in Switzerland and was a visiting Ph.D student at Harvard Business School. Prior to Etisalat, he was with Swisscom as a member of the Group's Executive Board where he also held non-executive board positions at national and international subsidiaries. In 2008-09, he was Chief Executive Officer of Swisscom Central & Eastern Europe. He started his career with The Boston Consulting Group, rising to Partner & Managing Director.
The outgoing President & CEO of the PTCL Group, Mr. Walid Irshaid has over 25 years of telecom experience and he served PTCL for nine years. Upon joining PTCL, Mr. Walid Irshaid transformed the organization from a state-run monopoly operator into a highly competitive, advanced and integrated service provider in Pakistan’s private sector. Under his leadership PTCL started Broadband Internet services in fixed and fixed wireless domain along with multimedia service.

Islamabad, Feb 10, 2016: PTCL has announced its annual financial results for the year ended December 31, 2015 in a meeting of PTCL Board of Directors held at Islamabad.
PTCL earned revenues of Rs. 75.8 billion for the FY 2015. Data revenues significantly increased by 12% compared with last year. The Company’s profitability continued to remain stable despite competition, especially in the broadband segment. Gross and net profit of the Company stood at Rs. 22.0 billion and Rs. 8.8 billion respectively. PTCL group’s revenues for the year stood at Rs. 118.6 billion. PTCL cash flows remained healthy and stable in FY 2015 due to continuous efforts to optimize costs as well as strong market position. This impetus continued across all business activities of PTCL including the fixed and wireless broadband and enterprise solutions.
Walid Irshaid, President & CEO PTCL said, “Our robust results again demonstrate the ability of our diversified line of business to perform to the expectations of our shareholders.” He further added, “PTCL’s performance during the past year is a strong indicator of our dynamic corporate direction, as well as our customers’ continued satisfaction in company’s products and services”.

The tour - which started from Brussels and ended at Geneva - was aimed at raising awareness and research into diabetes using state-of-the-art technologies. Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) senior management visited the NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), Islamabad to appreciate the achievements of three brilliant students of the university, who presented their research paper at MIT USA - one of the most prestigious universities of the world.
Three students of NUST, Abdullah Ahmed, Muhammad Jazib Khan and Muhammad Asawal have developed a device for cricketers to regularly gauge their body movements and angles while bowling. The creative device will provide an accurate, easy and affordable solution to the cricketers to monitor and rectify their bowling actions. The research was sponsored by PTCL.
The delegation, which was led by Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer PTCL included Amjad Iqbal, EVP Talent Management & Learning PTCL and Ahmed Jalal GM Training & Development PTCL.
