PTCL organizes Blood donation awareness walk in Sukkur

Sukkur, November 4, 2017: To support PTCL’s countrywide Blood Donation Drive, an awareness walk was held from PTCL Sukkur Regional Office to Press Club Sukkur in which a large number of employees, their family members, blood-donor agencies and other people from all walks of life joined this effort.

Before starting the camp activity, this awareness session has been arranged by the PTCL Razaakars (in-house volunteer force of PTCL) to motivate employees, their families & friends and the community. PTCL Sukkur Regional Office plans to establish more than 25 camps, in collaboration with Fatimid Foundation Pakistan and Sukkur Blood Hospital, in all major districts/cities i.e. Sukkur, Nawabshah, Nousheroferoz, Moro, Larkana, Shahadkot, Khairpur, Ghotki, Rohri, Pano Aqil, Mirpur Mathelo, Jacobabad, Kandhkot etc. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Muhammad Azam Soomro, Regional General Manager, PTCL, said, “This activity from the platform of PTCL falls under Corporate Social Responsibility as the importance of blood donation to save the lives of patients are dependent on such donations. A large number of children suffering from thalassemia are in various hospitals in this region who are in constant need of blood transfusion. “

Mr. Asif Haider, Senior Manager/HRBP Sukkur, PTCL, said, “We encourage the general public to generously participate in this noble cause and donate blood in any of our camps across the region, where our PTCL Razaakars and partners are available to provide maximum facilitation and comfort for the donors.”

More awareness sessions are being held at PTCL HQ & regional offices and its adjoining areas to enlighten employees about the importance of donating blood, along with establishment of Blood Donation Camps. PTCL made a pledge to donate over 5,000 pints of blood all over the country. Blood Donation Drive will continue for one week i.e. from November 6 to 10. –Ends
