PTCL – Pioneering new possibilities

As the United Arab Emirates (UAE) celebrates its 43rd National Day, PTCL extends its warmest felicitations to the people of UAE on this auspicious occasion.

The UAE is a symbol of success and a global hub of new possibilities. From humble beginnings 40 years ago, UAE is today one of the most hyper-connected places in the world, where more than 200 nationalities prosperously co-exist. The convergence of global leaders in technology, services, hospitality, innovation, digital connectivity and the wider knowledge economy endorse UAE’s position as a center of innovation and trans-continental trade.

The UAE has firmly established itself as a vital global player in areas ranging from international diplomacy, environmental engineering, to financial services and biotechnology.  UAE also won the rights to host 2020 World Expo, which further signifies the importance of UAE in the global scenario.

Pakistan-UAE friendship over the years has emerged into a model of regional cooperation. The relationship between the two countries has transpired into various social and economic development partnerships, which further strengthen the brotherhood between people of the two countries.

Etisalat, the leading telecommunications group of the UAE, has extended this strategic partnership though its investment in PTCL. The partnership, which is a testament of UAE’s concern for Pakistan’s bright future, has propelled PTCL in transforming the telecommunication landscape and the broader ICT ecosystem of Pakistan. Coming forward with a new vision of embracing the future, PTCL has not only expanded its network to remote areas but has also made far reaching impact on the wireless broadband front and ICT solutions, which are driving organizations forward and bringing a paradigm shift in business innovation and opportunities for new-startups.

PTCL boasts the largest fixed-line voice telephony and broadband network in the country, which is the life line for millions of consumers. Pakistan’s first wireless broadband service was also pioneered by PTCL, providing mobility for internet users, field-connectivity for organizations and most significantly internet access in remote areas. The company’s far-reaching initiatives to innovate and re-invent the broadband ecosystem are bringing a visible change in the socio- economic sphere of the country.  This access of broadband internet has not only opened new possibilities for the people, but is also enabling them to earn livelihood, reach out to newer international markets along with access to online learning and e-health services.

PTCL’s commitment is vividly embodied into the futuristic investment for telecom infrastructure development in Pakistan, contributing largely towards a more prosperous Pakistan.
