PTCL reaches out to flood affectees by providing relief goods and setting-up medical camps
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is carrying-out relief efforts in the areas affected by recent torrential rains and severe floods. A large part of the country including Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provinces has been inundated by the recent floods, affecting millions of people.
PTCL has mobilized various resources in extending support to the local administrations for providing humanitarian assistance to the affected people. The company has already deployed 10 fully equipped medical camps for providing on-spot medical care in the worst hit areas of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhang, Faisalabad, Multan, Narowal, Sialkot, Sahiwal and Chiniot.
Medicines worth approx. Rs. 2.5 million have been provided to the affected families. Additional support through delivery of necessary food items and relief goods, worth approx. Rs. 5.5 million have also been distributed in Gujranwala and Jhang districts.
The relief activities are being undertaken by PTCL volunteer teams, who are coordinating and carrying out these activities in liaison with the local authorities.
