Muhammad Basharat Qureshi, PTCL Executive Vice President Corporate Services signing agreement with Anwar Amjad, Director General IT, HEC to provide EVO wireless devices to university students nationwide.
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has partnered with Higher Education Commission (HEC) to promote education in the country.
In this regard, the company inked an agreement today with HEC for provision of 100,000 EVO wireless devices to university students nationwide. The devices will be provided along with laptops under the Prime Minister’s National Laptop Scheme.
Walid Irshaid, President & CEO, while commenting on the occasion said, “PTCL proudly believes in contributing towards the development of education in the country and this initiative shall further provide the youth of the country with more convenient access to quality education, raise their standards as well prepare themselves for the future”.
“Accessible and affordable broadband internet has the potential to virtually change the whole education-eco system in the country and bring unprecedented level of education, employment and learning opportunities,” added Walid Irshaid.
The agreement was signed by Muhammad Basharat Qureshi, PTCL Executive Vice President Corporate Services and Anwar Amjad, Director General IT, HEC at the HEC secretariat in Islamabad.
Senior government officials, representatives of HEC and PTCL senior officials were also present at the ceremony.
